Den ligger ved samløbet af Auray- og Bono-riaerne, 4 km syd for byen Auray og 15 km fra Vannes. Kommunen, beboet af omkring 2500 Bonovister, strækker sig over 596 ha. Bono har tidligere haft en betydelig maritim aktivitet med omkring fire hundrede søfolk og mere end hundrede både.
