Byen ligger i dalen Breusch i Vogeserne. Til Russ hører bydelene Les Bruyères, Steinbach og Schwarzbach. Nabokommunerne til Russ er Wisches mod nord, Muhlbach-sur-Bruche mod nordøst, Grendelbruch mod øst, Barembach mod syd samt Schirmeck mod vest.
