Det drejer sig om en Pôle kilometer (Stolpe) fra Frihedens Vej, bygget i 1948 som et uudsletteligt minde om Europas befrielse. Vejen forbinder Normandiet med slaget ved Ardennerne i Bastogne. Den fulde rute er på Routeyou opdelt som en motorrute kaldet Frihedens Vej og som cykelrute med forlængelse til Holland (Wageningen) i ti dele kaldet VDLAV (frihedens vej på cykel).
