Batalla de Challans (Det første slag ved Challans fandt sted den 13. april 1793 under La Vendée-oprøret. Det endte med sejren for republikanerne, der afviste et angreb fra vendeerne med det mål at genvinde landsbyen Challans. Efter hans nederlag i slaget ved Pont-Charrault blev general Louis de Marcé afsat i La Rochelle af repræsentanterne for missionen Jean-Louis Carra og Auguis, der erstattede ham med sin næstkommanderende, oberstløjtnant Henri de Boulard, der blev valgt til general ved akklamation af sine mænd efter slaget. På dette tidspunkt var Boulard ansvarlig for at forsvare Fontenay-le-Comte og Les Sables-d'Olonne, syd for det oprørske område. Han ankom til Les Sables med skib den 3. april 1793 og blev sat i spidsen for en styrke på 3.700 til 4.280 mænd.
