Place d'Alliance, more intimate than Place Stanislas, is part of the 18th century architectural ensemble recognized by UNESCO. It owes its name to the alliance between the House of Lorraine Habsburg and the House of France. At its centre stands a remarkable fountain, created by Cyfflé, inspired by the Bernini Fountain in Rome's Piazza Navona.
