Nord for Périgueux i Périgord Vert ligger Grotte de Villars, et af de største underjordiske netværk i Dordogne (over 13 km udforsket indtil i dag). Salle des Bénitiers, salle des Cierges, Grand balcon, … infiltrationsvandene har skabt en bemærkelsesværdig dekoration: kuppelerne, væggene og gulvene er dækket af calcit, fine stalaktitter og utallige stalagmitter, vidunderlige draperinger og eksentriske strømme.
Grotte de Villars huser en anden skat, forhistoriske malerier udført for 17.000 år siden med mangan og okker, anvendt med fingeren, med en børste af hår eller blæst som pulver. Nogle, som heste-hallen, er dækket af et fint lag calcit, der giver dem en særlig blå farve. At opdage i bevægelse: scenen med bisonen og shamans, sjælden menneskelig repræsentation af forhistorisk kunst.
