It was at the beginning, in 1096, a simple wooden dungeon which thus dominated the Loir on which the village of Matheflon is located today.
The keep was later replaced by a square stone tower. An enclosure followed the sloping ground and below it was the lower courtyard and the servants' quarters.
From 1406 it would have been erected as a cure. The sacraments were administered there. The baptismal registers from 1692 to 1731 bear the heading "parish of Seiches and Matheflon. »
In 1752 the dilapidated chapel was forbidden. The bell was transferred to the church of St. Aubin and the ornaments of the cult to the hospital in Durtal. In 1770 the miller Colombel replaced it with a windmill, then it became a chapel again in 1870 thanks to the priest Baudouin, who has been resting under the tombstone since June 6, 1885.
Open on request at the town hall, according to the opening hours of the town hall. And open during the European Heritage Days.
