Installert i de franske Ardennerne, midt i Thiérache, er Liart en landsby med 500 indbyggere, med forskellige butikker: brugs, restaurant, apotek, frisør, garage, café-tobak i byen... men også kun et skridt fra en pædagogisk gård, Liart er omgivet af marker og skove, og derfor af promenadestier. En økologisk ånd hersker i huset, så det er udstyret med tørre toiletter. Værelset er udstyret med tørre toiletter. Carole er en keramiker, og værkstedet ligger tæt på huset.
