Roeselare - Wissant - Roeselare

For those who love a challenge, this route from Roeselare to Wissant is a must-do.
It is not only a sporting challenge but the regions crossed are worth more than just a visit: Heuvelland, Cassel, Clairmarais, Sint Omer, Côte D'Opale, French Flanders, Watou, Poperinge ... Quiet roads, smooth climbs, beautiful views and delightful descents.
Along the way, there are plenty of opportunities for replenishment. At the turnaround point, in Wissant, there is even the possibility to dine a bit more comprehensively, not an unnecessary luxury to start the return trip with sufficient reserves. You can skip the dessert; you will get that immediately after the turnaround with the climb to Cap Blanc-Nez. In clear weather, the view is phenomenal, with the chalk cliffs of Dover in the distance.
The return trip is quite flat, and in a group, it should be possible to develop a reasonable pace, especially if you are lucky enough to return with a tailwind. The last replenishment is planned near the Abbey of West-Vleteren, at café "De Vrede". A West-Vleteren of 12° is the ultimate energy drink that will perfectly get you through the last 35 km :).
