Belfast er et distrikt med den officielle titel som by, på øen Irland og er den største by i Nordirland i provinsen Ulster, og har ifølge et skøn fra 2018 et indbyggertal på 342.000. Det har siden 1922 været hovedstaden i Nordirland, og det er hovedstaden i County Antrim.
Navnet Belfast stammer fra det irske Béal Feirste, eller mundingen af Farset, floden som byen er bygget omkring. Floden, som selv er gået over i den større flod Lagan, har i dag lidt kendthed og strømmer i et rør under byen.
