Beaumont Palace, bygget uden for nordporten til Oxford, blev tænkt af Henry I omkring 1130 til at fungere som et kongeligt palads, bekvemt tæt på den kongelige jagthytte i Woodstock. Dets tidligere tilstedeværelse er registreret i Beaumont Street, Oxford. Indsat i en søjle på den nordlige side af gaden, nær Walton Street, er en sten med inskriptionen: "Nær denne plads stod Kongens Huse, senere kendt som Beaumont Palace. Kong Richard I blev født her i 1157 og Kong John i 1166". "Kongens Hus" var den del af paladset, der indeholdt kongens opholdssteder.
