Floden Lugg stiger op nær Llangynllo i Radnorshire, Wales. Den flyder gennem grænsebyen Presteigne og derefter gennem Herefordshire, England, hvor den møder sin vigtigste biflod, floden Arrow, syd for Leominster. Den flyder ind i floden Wye nedstrøms fra Hereford ved Mordiford, ca. 63 miles fra sin kilde. Dens navn kommer fra en walisisk rod og betyder "lys strøm".
