Passet forbinder Valle del Vanoi med Tesino-plateauet. I århundreder har Broconpasset været et vigtigt kvægdriftsområde. Vejen over passet blev taget i brug i 1908. Den blev anlagt efter ordre fra den østrigsk-ungarske regering af militære årsager.
Vest for Broconpasset ligger den uberørte bjerggruppe Lagorai, mod øst findes den 2068 meter høje Monte Coppolo. Fra pasets højde fører en vandretur til Trodo dei Fiori. Undervejs møder man over 250 blomsterarter og har udsigt til Lagorai og de nærliggende Dolomitter.
