Piazza Maggiore er en plads, centralt beliggende i den italienske by Bologna. Rundt denne plads, 115 m ved 60 m stor, ligger de vigtigste bygninger, der blev opført i middelalderen. Pladsen gennemgik grundlæggende ændringer under det pavelige styre i det 16. århundrede.
På nordsiden står den ældste bygning, Palazzo del Podestà, fra 1200 og dens Torre dell'Arengo med den største klokke i Bologna. På bagsiden blev senere Palazzo Re Enzo tilføjet. Palazzo d'Accursio lukker den vestlige side af pladsen af, en monumental bygning fra det 14. århundrede med rådhuset, et multimediarum og museer. Piazza del Nettuno med Fontana del Nettuno fra 1565 ligger mellem Via Rizzoli og Piazza Maggiore.
