Völser Weiher ligger på 1056 m højde i en af sklerns vestvæg omkransede skov. De nærmeste landsbyer er i sydvest hovedbyen Völs am Schlern og i nordvest Völser fraktion St. Konstantin. Lige øst og lidt højere op ad skråningen ligger den cirka lige store Huberweiher, lidt lavere i nordvest ligger den mindre Gfliererweiher. Søen er tilgængelig fra flere vandrestier fra forskellige retninger samt en vej, der ender få meter sydvest for søen. Den er en del af Naturparken Schlern-Rosengarten.
