Novate Mezzola er en italiensk kommune med 1.894 indbyggere i Sondrio-provinsen i Lombardiet. Den er en del af Valchiavenna Montanefællesskabet.
Fra Novate Mezzola gik den romerske vej Spluga i romertiden, en romersk vej der forbinde Milano med Lindau via Spluga-passet. I højmiddelalderen var den, helt fra langobardernes tid, underlagt munkene fra det magtfulde kloster San Colombano i Bobbio, som grundlagde klosteret San Colombano i bydelen Campo. Den samme missionær og abbed San Colombano passerede her i 612, da han kom til Italien med sine munke fra Schweiz efter at have krydset Settimo-passet.
