På tærsklen til Maastricht-traktaten (1991) blev der serveret vin fra Apostelhoeve i rådhuset i den tidligere Mosae Traiectum. Den daværende franske præsident François Mitterand må have været meget betaget. År senere sagde hans enke under et uventet besøg på området, at hendes mand var imponeret over den hvide vin, han havde drukket i Maastricht. Man skulle overveje et besøg på vingården til Mathieu Hulst og hans sønner Gilbert og Robin for mindre.
