Am Vorabend des Vertrags von Maastricht (1991) wurde im Rathaus des ehemaligen Mosae Traiectum Wein von Apostelhoeve serviert. Der damalige französische Präsident François Mitterrand muss davon sehr angetan gewesen sein. Jahre später sagte seine Witwe während eines unerwarteten Besuchs des Anwesens, dass ihr Mann von dem Weißwein, den er in Maastricht getrunken hatte, beeindruckt war. Da könnte man schon einen Besuch des Weinguts von Mathieu Hulst und seinen Söhnen Gilbert und Robin in Betracht ziehen.
