Groenburgwal er en amsterdamsk kanal, der forbinder Raamgracht med Amstel. Groenburgwal ligger parallelt med Kloveniersburgwal og Zwanenburgwal, i skyggen af tårnet fra Zuiderkerk
Området mellem Kloveniersburgwal og Zwanenburgwal var indtil sent i det 16. århundrede stadig "det område uden for volden ved Amstel". I 1593 blev området tilføjet byen.
