Neerkant er en landsby i kommunen Deurne i den hollandske provins Noord-Brabant, beliggende ved grænsen til Limburg nær Meijel. Neerkant er opstået langs den gamle vej gennem Peel. Den ældste kendte omtale af navnet Neercant stammer fra regnskabsåret 1622/1623. Forklaringen på navnet Neerkant er omkranset af mange fantasier. Således skulle Willibrord have sat sig ned der langs vejen, eller det skulle være en forvanskning af Nederland. Historisk og sprogligt henviser dette dog direkte til fabelens rige. Navnet Neerkant kan forklares som en bosættelse i slutningen af det befolkede område og afspejler den isolerede beliggenhed.
