Neerkant es una aldea en el municipio de Deurne, en la provincia neerlandesa de Brabante Septentrional, situada en la frontera con Limburgo, cerca de Meijel. Neerkant se formó a lo largo de la antigua carretera a través de Peel. La mención más antigua conocida del nombre Neercant data del año contable 1622/1623. La explicación del nombre Neerkant está rodeada de numerosas fantasías. Se dice que Willibrord se habría asentado a un lado del camino o que podría ser una alteración de los Países Bajos. Sin embargo, históricamente y lingüísticamente, todo esto se refiere directamente al reino de las fábulas. El nombre Neerkant puede explicarse como un asentamiento al final de la área poblada y refleja la ubicación aislada.
