Bygningen fungerer nu ikke længere kun som kirke, men som Multifunktionelt Center (MFA).
I lang tid har der i Sprundel eksisteret et kapel.
I 1351 blev der første gang nævnt en sogn.
Kapellet blev hævet til sognkirke, men omkring 1500 blev en ny kirke bygget.
Den blev ødelagt af krigshandlinger i 1583 og blev færdig igen i 1620.
Denne kirke kom i 1648 i hænde af reformerte, og i 1796 blev den givet tilbage til katolikkerne.
Efter tilbagesendelsen blev kirken restaureret i 1803 og 1875.
Den gamle kirke blev revet ned i 1922, hvorefter den nuværende kirke blev bygget.
