Das Gebäude dient jetzt nicht mehr nur als Kirche, sondern als Multifunktionale Unterkunft (MFA).
Bereits seit langem gab es in Sprundel eine Kapelle.
Im Jahr 1351 wurde zum ersten Mal eine Pfarrei erwähnt.
Die Kapelle wurde zur Pfarrkirche erhoben, aber um 1500 wurde eine neue Kirche gebaut.
Sie wurde 1583 durch Kriegsereignisse zerstört und 1620 wieder fertiggestellt.
Diese Kirche kam 1648 in den Besitz der Reformierten, und 1796 wurde sie den Katholiken zurückgegeben.
Nach der Rückgabe wurde die Kirche 1803 und 1875 restauriert.
Die alte Kirche wurde 1922 abgebrochen, woraufhin die heutige Kirche gebaut wurde.
