Merwede er navnet for nedre løb af Waal. Merwedebrug er en fast vejbro over Boven-Merwede mellem Gorinchem og Sleeuwijk. Det er en unik dobbeltbuebro i Holland. Broen er kendt fra trafikmeldinger som "Merwedebrug" eller "Broen ved Gorinchem". De vigtigste årsager til trafikpropperne er den kun 2 meter brede venstre vognbane på broen (normalt er den 3,5 meter) og samløbet af A15 og A27 ved knudepunktet i Gorinchem, lige før broen.
