Den 28. april 1992 afslørede daværende borgmester J. Smit sammen med Herman Meijerink dette monument til minde om jøderne fra Losser, der ikke var kommet tilbage fra udryddelseslejrene. Monumentet blev skabt af den billedkunstneriske Antoinette Ruiter fra Oldenzaal. Den tidligere rådmand Herman Meijerink og hans kone Marie var initiatorer af opførelsen af monumentet. Jøderne fra Losser var en lille og egentlig glemt gruppe, som forhåbentlig vil blive i vores hukommelse for evigt på denne måde, gennem initiativet fra hr. og fru Meijerink.
