Steinse Grøn ligger på østsiden af Gouda, klemt mellem toglinjen Gouda-Woerden og Steinsedijk. Det er et langstrakt bånd på cirka 200 meter bredt og 1250 meter langt. Området danner en overgang mellem boligområdet Goverwelle og polderlandet.
Steinse Grøn har en 'naturlig' fremtoning. Der er en naturlegeplads, hvor børn kan klatre på træstammer i stedet for på plastiklegeredskaber.
Det gør området meget velegnet til, med de nødvendige tilpasninger, at fungere som en del af naturzonen, der forbinder Krimpenerwaard med Reeuwijkse Plassen.
