Die Volksmudschahedin sind eine militante iranische Oppositionsbewegung. Sie ist Teil des Nationalen Widerstandsrates des Iran, einer Organisation, die sich selbst als säkulares und demokratisches Exilparlament des iranischen Volkes bezeichnet. Eine größere Anzahl Mitglieder der Mudschahedin befindet sich in Albanien.
Es gilt dabei zu unterscheiden zwischen den Volksmudschahedin mit iranischen Wurzeln und den Volksmudschahedin in Afghanistan, die Sunniten sind. Zwischen beiden besteht keine Zusammenarbeit.
