Velden am Wörther See [ˈfelden] ist eine Marktgemeinde mit 9151 Einwohnern im Bezirk Villach-Land im österreichischen Bundesland Kärnten. Außerdem ist Velden am Wörthersee ein gesetzlich anerkannter Luftkurort sowie einer der bekanntesten und beliebtesten Fremdenverkehrsorte Österreichs.Die älteste urkundliche Erwähnung Veldens stammt aus dem Jahr 1150. Der Name leitet sich von Velben ab.
