Bad Gams ist ein Marktort in der Weststeiermark. Er war bis Ende 2014 eine Marktgemeinde mit 2306 Einwohnern im Südwesten der Steiermark im Bezirk Deutschlandsberg . Im Rahmen der steiermärkischen Gemeindestrukturreform wurde Bad Gams 2015 mit den Gemeinden Deutschlandsberg, Freiland bei Deutschlandsberg, Kloster, Osterwitz und Trahütten zur Stadtgemeinde Deutschlandsberg zusammengeschlossen. Grundlage dafür ist das Steiermärkische Gemeindestrukturreformgesetz – StGsrG. Ein Fusions- und Entwicklungsvertrag mit Deutschlandsberg und Kloster wurde bereits am 18. November 2013 unterzeichnet.
