Von einem Landschaftsjuwel zum nächsten: In Ehrwald beginnt der Weg nach Lermoos, bezeichnenderweise heißt er Moosweg. Durch den Ort zur Talstation der Grubigsteinbahn, die einen kräfteschonend hinaufbringt zum Gipfelhaus Grubigstein auf 2.050 Meter. Nach etwas Auf und Ab und einem wunderbaren Ausblick auf den Blindsee geht es durch Latschenbewuchs und Wald inmitten der Tiroler Zugspitz Arena hinunter zur Fernpass-Bundesstraße. Nun auf die alte Römerstraße „Via Claudia Augusta“ wechseln und weiter zum Schloss Fernstein. Damit eröffnet sich die Naturarena Mieminger Plateau & Fernpass-Seen, ein bezauberndes Sonnenplateau im Herzen Tirols. Das Etappenziel, die Selbstversorgerhütte Lorea Hütte, befindet sich ein paar Stockwerke höher.
