Obwohl der Fluss Mark nur 28 Kilometer lang ist, hat er im Laufe der Jahre zusammen mit seinen Nebenflüssen dennoch eine schöne und leicht hügelige Landschaft geformt, mit vielen reizvollen Tälern. Die Mark beginnt und endet ihren Lauf als Marcq: die Quelle befindet sich in Enghien (Edingen) und der Fluss mündet bei Deux-Acren (einem Stadtteil von Lessines) in die Dender.
