Baaigem ist ein Dorf in der belgischen Provinz Ostflandern und eine Teilgemeinde von Gavere. Es hat eine Fläche von 3,79 km² und zählte am 31. Dezember 2005 565 Einwohner. Damit ist es nach Einwohnern die kleinste Teilgemeinde von Gavere. Baaigem war im Mittelalter als villa Badingahem oder Badengem bekannt, was so viel bedeutet wie das Haus von Badu. Es wurde erstmals in der ersten Hälfte des 11. Jahrhunderts erwähnt. Das Patronatsrecht der Kirche kam 1096 an das spätere St.-Adriaans-Abtei, das in diesem Jahr von Dikkelvenne nach Geraardsbergen umzog. 1147 ging das Patronatsrecht an die Abtei von Anchin. Im 13. Jahrhundert wurden die Herren von Gavere Eigentümer dieser Dorfschaft.
