Baaigem è un comune nella provincia belga di Fiandre Orientali e una frazione di Gavere. Ha una superficie di 3,79 km² e contava, al 31 dicembre 2005, 565 abitanti. Con questo numero di abitanti, è la frazione più piccola di Gavere. Baaigem era conosciuta nel medioevo come villa Badingahem o Badengem, che significa la casa di Badu. Fu menzionata per la prima volta nella prima metà dell'11° secolo. Il diritto di patronato della chiesa passò nel 1096 all'abbazia di Sint-Adriaan, che in quell'anno si trasferì da Dikkelvenne a Geraardsbergen. Nel 1147 il diritto di patronato passò all'Abbazia di Anchin. Nel 13° secolo i signori di Gavere divennero proprietari di questo feudo.
