Über Knotenpunkt 17 radelst du von der Gasthof Ter Vaerent (achte auf den Mühlstein an der Wand) am Rand eines Naturschutzgebiets. Hier findest du noch echte alte Torfstiche. Auch der Molenbeek schlängelt sich durch dieses Naturschutzgebiet. Verschiedene authentische Mühlenwege führen zur Cottemühle. Einer beginnt bei Knotenpunkt 17, ein anderer startet neben der Brücke über den Molenbeek, am früheren Café Brughuis.
