Dieses Art-Deco-Gebäude stammt aus den 1930er Jahren. Sein Spitzname ist "der Klangstoff", wegen seiner beispiellosen akustischen Qualitäten. Es ist eines der ersten Rundfunkstudios der Welt. Der Architekt Joseph Diongre gewann 1934 den Architekturwettbewerb des NIR zusammen mit Raymond Braillard. 1939 wurde das Gebäude erstmals genutzt und erlangte schnell weltweit Ruhm für die Qualität seiner Studios. 1973 zogen die Nationalen Rundfunkgesellschaften nach Schaarbeek. Das Gebäude verschlechterte sich schnell, obwohl es 1994 unter Denkmalschutz gestellt wurde und 1997 auf die UNESCO-Liste der am stärksten gefährdeten Gebäude der Welt gesetzt wurde. Glücklicherweise wurde es 1998 von einer privaten Organisation gerettet und heute ist es ein wichtiges Kulturzentrum mit Musikfestivals, Konzerten, Filmen und Debatten.
