Der Platz befindet sich in der Paleizenstraße, die das Schloss von Laken mit dem Königlichen Palast von Brüssel verbindet und trägt den Namen von Baron Charles Liedts, einem belgischen liberalen Politiker. Über die Königinnenstraße hat man einen direkten Blick auf die Onze-Lieve-Vrouwekerk in Laken. Der Liedtsplatz ist eine wichtige Haltestelle für den öffentlichen Verkehr in Schaarbeek. Die Straßenbahnlinien 25, 32 und 55 haben dort eine Haltestelle. Die neue U-Bahn-Linie 3 wird dort in Zukunft eine Haltestelle haben.
