Vurste ist ein Dorf in der belgischen Provinz Ostflandern und ein Stadtteil von Gavere. Es hat eine Fläche von 4,49 km² und zählte am 31. Dezember 2013 1.037 Einwohner. 1110 wurde Vurste erstmals erwähnt, und zwar als Vorste, was möglicherweise vom Lateinischen: Forestum abgeleitet ist. 1284 kamen Güter in Vurste an das Gentse St.-Pietersabtei. Verwaltungsrechtlich gehörte es zum Land von Aalst und zur Bann von Gavere.
