Vurste è un comune nella provincia belga di Fiandre orientali e una frazione di Gavere. Ha una superficie di 4,49 km² e contava 1.037 abitanti al 31 dicembre 2013. Vurste è stata menzionata per la prima volta nel 1110 come Vorste, che sarebbe derivato dal latino: Forestum. Nel 1284 beni a Vurste passarono all'abbazia di San Pietro di Gand. Amministrativamente apparteneva alla regione di Aalst e alla baanderij di Gavere.
