Tollembeek ist ein Stadtteil von Galmaarden, gelegen im Pajottenland, und liegt mit dem Bahnhof Tollembeek an der Eisenbahnlinie 123. Zum Stadtteil gehört auch das Weiler Herhout. Tollembeek war bis zur Gemeindereform von 1977 eine eigenständige Gemeinde. Bis zur Französischen Revolution gehörte Tollembeek zum Land von Edingen und zur Grafschaft Hennegau. Das Gebiet war Teil des Hernewoud, das von einem Meier und sechs Schöffen verwaltet wurde und verschiedene Enklaven zählte. Es kam im 9. Jahrhundert an die Grafen von Hennegau und im 13. Jahrhundert an die Herren von Edingen. Die erste Erwähnung von Tollembeek stammt aus dem Jahr 1148 und wird dann als Tholobecca geschrieben. Seit Beginn des 16. Jahrhunderts ist Tollembeek ein eigenständiges Dorf.
