Fraipont ist ein Ort und Stadtgemeinde der belgischen Gemeinde Trooz. Fraipont liegt in der Provinz Lüttich und war bis zum 1. Januar 1977 eine eigenständige Gemeinde. Basse-Fraipont liegt an der Vesder, es gehörte zum karolingischen Gebiet von Jupille und fiel später direkt unter das Fürstbistum Lüttich. Um die Mitte des 18. Jahrhunderts wurde die Herrschaft ausgegeben und später verkauft. Kirchlich gehörte Basse-Fraipont zur Pfarrei von Olne und erhielt 1698 eine Kapelle, die 1788 zur Pfarrkirche erhoben wurde und dem Heiligen Gillis geweiht ist.
