Helkijn ist ein Dorf in der belgischen Provinz Westflandern und ein Teilgemeinde der Einrichtungsgemeinde Spiere-Helkijn. Es war bis zur Gemeindereform von 1977 eine selbständige Gemeinde. Helkijn liegt am Schelde, nahe der Grenze zu Wallonien. 847 wurde Helkijn erstmals erwähnt, als Helcinio. Es handelt sich hierbei um eine Abschrift aus etwa 1300. 988 und 1156 wurde Helkijn erneut erwähnt.
