Vollezele war früher sehr bekannt für seine Hengstzüchtereien, die sich auf die Zucht des Brabanter Zugpferdes spezialisiert hatten. Im Zentrum von Vollezele steht ein kleines Denkmal des belgischen Zugpferdes Brillant zum Gedenken an diese Züchter. Diese Statue darf nicht mit dem größeren Denkmal auf dem Markt von Lennik verwechselt werden. R. Van Der Schueren gründete 1867 eine Hengstzucht, die später den Namen "Haras de Vollezeele" erhielt. Ein weiterer Hengstzüchter war T. D'Hauwer. Nach und nach kamen im Laufe der Jahre mehrere Pferdezuchtbetriebe hinzu, wobei die Hengste und Stuten angekauft und somit in die ganze Welt transportiert wurden.
