Die Kirche befindet sich im Zentrum der historischen Altstadt der Gemeinde und wurde im 17. Jh. in gotischem und Renaissance-Stil wieder aufgebaut. Der romanische Turm (13.Jh.) ist eines der ältesten Baudenkmäler, die in der Region um Herve erhalten sind. Er erinnert an die Feudalepoche, als aus Sicherheitsgründen alles befestigt war. Die drei Meter dicken Mauern sind mit Schießscharten versehen.
Im Inneren ist das Taufbecken von 1574 der älteste kirchliche Gegenstand. Ölmalerei und Kirchenfenster zeigen in einer Art „Unterricht durch Bilder“ die Eucharestie oder die Verehrung der Jungfrau. Auffällig ist die Kanzel (1739) im Lütticher Stil Ludwig des XIV. Die Orgel (1672) ist von hoher Qualität.
