Das Fußballfeld von OZ Bavegem war im Jahr 2013 Teil des Diebstahls der "Straf- und Mittelkreise". Auf zahlreichen Fußballfeldern in der Nähe wurden, wie hier, der Mittelkreis und/oder der Strafstoßpunkt ausgehoben und entfernt. Bis jetzt ist es immer noch ein Rätsel, was das Motiv war und wer dahintersteckt. Die 9 Mannschaften, die dieses Rätsel erleiden mussten, waren KSV Sottegem, Eendracht Grotenberge, KFC Herzele, DT Borsbeke, Eendracht Elene, VC Ressegem, SK Vlierzele und Eendracht Houtem.
