FN Herstal ist einer der 'Dames de la Basse-Meuse'. Ende 1901 rollte hier an der Voie de Liège der erste Motor der Marke vom Band, die wir heute noch als Hersteller von Feuerwaffen kennen. Eine freundliche Anfrage für einen Fabrikbesuch stieß etwas vorhersehbar auf ein 'njet' und wir warten immer noch auf eine Antwort von FN auf die Frage, ob in den Gebäuden noch etwas von den Glanzzeiten der belgischen Motorindustrie zu sehen ist.
