FN Herstal is one of the 'Ladies of the Lower Meuse'. At the end of 1901, the first engine rolled off the line at the Voie de Liège from the brand that we still know today as a manufacturer of firearms. A polite request for a factory visit was somewhat predictably met with a 'no' and we are still waiting for an answer from FN on whether there is anything to see in the buildings from the heyday of the Belgian motorcycle industry.
