FN Herstal er en af de 'Damer de la Basse-Meuse'. I slutningen af 1901 rullede her ved Voie de Liège den første motor af båndet fra det mærke, vi stadig kender som producent af skarpe våben. En venlig forespørgsel om et fabriksbesøg stødte noget forudsigeligt på et 'njet', og vi venter stadig på et svar fra FN på spørgsmålet om, hvorvidt der stadig er noget at se i bygningerne fra de glansfulde dage i den belgiske motorindustri.
