Das Museum befindet sich im rechten Teil eines spätklassizistischen Gebäudes aus dem Jahr 1820, das an der Groenplaats 4 liegt. Die Einrichtung und Sammlung stammt aus der Apotheke der Familie Humblé, die ab 1891 auch eine Arztpraxis umfasste. Die Ärzte- und Apothekerpraxis, beide von Doktor Gerard Humblé geführt, befand sich im Haus De Roomse Keizer an der Herenstraat in Rekem. Diese wurde bis 1970 von seinem Sohn Frans weitergeführt. 1985 wurde die Sammlung von der Witwe Humblé übergeben und 2009 im Museum ausgestellt.
