Durch besondere Umstände blieb das wertvolle Gebiet von der Stadtentwicklung und Hafenexpansion verschont. Im Frühling genießt man die wunderschöne rosa-rote Farbe der wilden Orchideen, und von Juli bis Dezember weiden dort Galloway-Rinder. Das Spotten von Rohrvögeln ist beliebt, mit dem Blaukehlchen als Aushängeschild. Dieser Singvogel lässt besonders bei Sonnenaufgang sein charakteristisches Lied erklingen. Die rote Wanderung ist etwa 4 Kilometer lang, perfekt für ein paar Stunden Wandervergnügen.
