Das Schloss von Wakken war ein wirklich mit Parks umgebenes Palais, in dem große Feste und Empfänge stattfanden. Anton I., der zweite Sohn von Philipp dem Guten, und von einer seiner Mätressen, Jeanne de Presle de Lizy, wählte 1480 das Schloss von Wakken als Residenz.
